Buffet & Coffee Shop - Wrest Point
All hotels in Hobart Food not good for the value table setup as normally. Value for money it seems expensive at first glance for what you get but then again I guess you can go back for as much as you want and it is in the casino so it balances out somewhat. I'd only recommend it if you use a 2 for 1 coupon. My husband and I went to the coffee shop on Tuesday. All of your saved places can be found here in My Trips. View full menu Collapse menu.

Had fun, value was OK, desserts were good and plentiful, except for the cheese. All Staff were friendly and helpful. As happens on Thursdays there seemed to be a lesser range on offer.
Staff as usual were courteous and efficient. Great food, great staff, good value. Was disappointed with choice and quality of food. During meal received an email claiming we did not arrive for our booking which insinuated that we were unreliable and cost the restaurant time and money, which in actual fact, we were sitting eating our meal.
Would not recommend for a meal. We had a wonderful buffet breakfast. The roast vegetables were there for to ling the potatoes were a little stale. Food was very basic not much different from dinner and lunch menu. Staff seem to be unhappy and can be quite rude. Working in the hospitality in producing food I would have to say this is the closest thing to a soup kitchen. Excellent service, great food and lovely ambience for our 6th Wedding Anniversary.
Food was horrible and when requested other food the chef couldn't even under stand us. Venue was good n staff as well but regarding food it was average.
The selection of dishes is cleverly planned, just right for us. Others complain about not many choices but for us, the menu is enough- they have two choices of soups, a vegetarian pasta, roasts like pork or beef, fish and chips, thee usual veggies, one stew dish plus cooked veggies like potatoes, pumpkin, zucchini and carrots. But they also have salads of several types- garden, pasta, etc. Desserts are in small portions so you don't have to worry about too much sweets and calories.
Plus the coffee and tea machine is adequate, although I would like to see a decaf coffee and tea option. But, it is fine for me, water is enough for me, not that a big eater! Been here maybe half a dozen times and we're never disappointed! Staff are usually friendly too, venue is clean and cosy at times too! The service and price were good. Unfortunately the food standard was really bad, I don't even know what some of it was supposed to be.
Not as good as we had hoped Selection not that good. Good value buffet, well presented and nice food. Staff friendly and efficient. It was my little sisters birthday but she is only 17 so we were on a sister date. I went to the bar and ordered her a mocktail. The girl behind the bar said that they don't really make them but still went out of her way to make a very Berry mocktail that made my sisters birthday a little more perfect.
Thank you to that girl so much. Fantastic experience, great service, good quality food. Could do with a few more child friendly main's options though. Great value for money. Nice variety of dishes to choose from.
Always love coming here as there is plenty of choice for restricted diets such as diabetics. Only disaapointment this time was there was no roast pork.
Staff member was very apologetic but was out of his hands he said. Food was nice, could have more variety tho, more hot dishes. Food not good for the value table setup as normally. A very enjoyable lunch with a good choice of fresh vegetables and salads, The dessert bar was a delight that made it quite easy to over indulge. Not much variety for price of meals. Main meal was more like an Local rsl not a casino. Overall very good experience. We did feel that a lot of the food was quite cold though.
Most food dry and tasteless, fish particularly, turkey buff very dry, potatoes leathery, possibly been there a long time, chick peas dry, in fact everything poor. No effort is taken, it's basically "anything will do". Coffee machine has no instruction as to where your cup goes.
Deserts only exception to the rest. A few years ago this had twice the choice it has today. Considering the money a casino makes the price of beer and wine is far too high. In NSW clubs give back some of their profits in reasonable pricing, and some visitors from interstate are shocked by the difference here. At least the food in the Riverview snacks, while minimal, is freshly cooked. This time the hot meats were not hot. Waiters took plates away before checking we had actually finished which was rather annoying but overall it is a great place to dine.
The Coffee Shop is consistent with food but the options and variety have not been as good in recent years. I understand that this is probably to minimise costs.
I am glad to book ahead this time as it was easier to get a table Last time we were there, the counter guy was not as friendly as the lady who entertained us this time.
She was polite and very approachable, same with the servers and even the chefs. Only the young dude doing the carvery was not as pleasant. Put a better person for that spot I only got a small piece of meat beef was dry and chewy anyway, but the pork was better, shame there was only that piece left in the serving tray.
I am not sure if he intended to slice some more. But otherwise, we all enjoyed our meal. Oh, I forgot to add the caesar salad croutons were soggy! The rest of the dishes were good, especially the vegan pasta, very tasty.
The choice of food is always good and it caters for both children and adults.
