Margaret was employed by General Electric for 30 years as a legal and personnel secretary. She has the distinction of being the first woman elected to the Clyde-Savannah Board of Education. She enjoyed golfing, cooking, gardening and reading. Margaret could discuss anything from British history to the most current medical discoveries.

She loved to discuss current events and politics and usually won any debate. At 95 years old, she was the most savvy on-line banker and e-mailer around!

Her farm house of 69 years was warm and inviting to all who stepped through her door, hosting all holiday and family gatherings. Throughout the years, many of his former students shared and thanked him for their successes in their careers because of the skills he imparted to them. Ralph and Carolyn were known for their dancing and they cleared the dance floor at many events. Ralph was an accomplished drummer and enjoyed being part of a jazz quartet which used to play at local restaurants.

He especially enjoyed playing with fellow band members at local nursing homes. He took great pride in the home he designed and built, brick by brick and shared with his wife Carolyn for most of their 67 years together. Their home was a gathering place for many family picnics and holidays over the years. Ralph loved to garden. He took great pleasure in designing the landscape surrounding his home and found great satisfaction in keeping it inviting and beautiful.

He spent many hours tending to his half acre of vineyard and made his own wine yearly; a tradition he has passed on to his family. Ralph is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.

The family moved to Lyons in and Ella once again offered dance classes through the community center.

Her love of dance and theater also led her to choreograph many Lyons High School productions, as well as a Syracuse University production of Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream. She was a passionate supporter of the Humane Society and she and John rescued several beloved dogs over the years.
